What is Londinium?

In December of 2004, when she was a sophomore in high school, Steph Diorio thought she could write a serious book.

It became a satire within two weeks.

Several years later, Londinium is an ongoing project because as a perpetual student Steph still has not had time to actually write the book. She researches it quite a bit, but every time she writes part of it she ends up starting over because the plot has changed for the one thousandth time. Oh, well. Historian problems.

Londinium is the story of the heir to an earldom and a piano player who cleans chimneys as a second job teaming up to become the greatest comedy writing sensation of the 1860s whilst helping to stop some evildoers from financially destroying the world. It's as ridiculous as it sounds and the book does not take itself seriously, probably because the author does not take herself seriously either.

Basically, what you need to know is this: Londinium is a fictional story about two dorks from opposite sides of the social spectrum, comedy in the 1860s (and the early rise of music hall), and general hijinks. If that sounds like your cup of tea, this book might just be for you.

If it's ever finished.
